Board of Directors 2022
Jeff Hart - President
My wife Patti and I have lived on Hardouin Avenue in Pemberton Heights since 1987. We met while attending the University of Texas and after a short stint in Dallas decided to make Austin our home. I am originally from Orange, Texas and Patti is from Houston. We are committed to the Pemberton Heights neighborhood and one of my goals is to keep it as one of the best neighborhoods in the best city in Texas. We raised our three boys here and over the years I was very involved in youth sports in various capacities. We now have three grandsons who also live very nearby. They keep both of us busy. Patti and I enjoy traveling (especially in Italy) and outdoor activities together, including swimming, biking and jogging and have competed in triathlons. We love to spend time at the beach and generally anywhere on the water. We have been active sailors and competitive offshore racers. Patti is a retired journalist and I am a recovering lawyer. My favorite beverage is a Painkiller on a Caribbean beach.

Mike Klatt - Secretary
Mike has lived on Hardouin Avenue in Pemberton Heights for over 30 years with his wife Sha and three kids -- now all out of the house and pursuing successful careers on their own in Austin. He grew up in Austin and Waco, went to undergrad at UT (where he received a history degree) and law school at Baylor. After law school, he was a judicial clerk for Judge Bob Shannon in 1980-81 here in Austin and he's been practicing law in Austin ever since. His favorite adult beverage Is a martini.

Thomas Hester - Treasurer
Our family moved to Preston Ave in 2020 and has lived in the area (Brykerwoods) since 2014. The peaceful streets of our neighborhood have been somewhat of a refuge for our growing family (we walk a
lot!) and the source of many friendships and milestones (no training wheels!) over the relatively short time that we have lived here. I graduated from TCU but have become quite fond of the Longhorns as long as they’re not playing my Frogs, and I work as a finance executive in the energy industry.

Rick Crump - Traffic and Triangles

Rick is married to Wendy Crump and they have two grown children. Wendy and Rick moved from Friendswood, Tx to Austin, Bryker Wood in 2016. After aquiring 1406 Wooldridge in 2018 they began a significant renovation and expect to complete in January 2019. Rick and Wendy were raised in Houston and attended Sam Houston State University. Rick spent 35 years in the Oil and Chemical industries. He worked for a Russian / German oil trading firm in Houston and Singapore. The past 20 years were dedicated to building Intergulf Corporation. Its primary activities include chemical blending, waste water recycling, refining and non-hazardous waste processing. Rick and Wendy moved to Austin (full – time) shortly after the sale of Intergulf in 2017. Rick now spends most of his time in their commercial real estate business, with assets in Austin and Houston. Rick's favorite adult beverage is Vodka with Topo Chico.

Callie Hester - Membership Chair
My family moved to Preston Avenue, from Brykerwoods, in 2020. We have three kids, two dogs and a very loud house! I attended the University of Texas for my undergraduate degree in 2005 and then headed out west for Law School at Texas Tech. I practiced law here in Austin, working for the State Securities Board until the arrival of my son in 2017. I am currently a retired lawyer turned preschool mom. I love spending time with my family, exploring Austin through their eyes and trying to wrangle the three kids and two dogs to Hartford park on any given weekend.
Holly Lanham - Social Co-chair
Holly J. Lanham is a healthcare researcher at UT Health San Antonio. She received her MBA and PhD from the McCombs School of Business. Holly and her husband, Tadd, live on Wooldridge with their two children. As co-chair of the social committee, Holly is excited to help organize the annual picnic and garage sale and plan additional events to bring neighbors together throughout the year.
Margaret Williams - Social Co-Chair
Margaret Page Williams lives with her husband Matt, and two kids Caroline and Ford, on Wooldridge Avenue. After graduating from Austin High School and attending Emory University Margaret moved to New York City to work in the art world. There, she worked with the contemporary painter Caio Fonseca, met Matt–then a NYC high school math teacher–and many jobs, apartments and two children later the family of four returned home to Austin. Margaret loves living so close to family, so close to the Pease Trail and so close to Tinys. She also loves seeing her kids at Casis in class alongside the kids of her childhood friends. She's lucky to be a part of the team at Wildsam Field Guides, an Austin-based independent publishing company, while Matt works as an independent consultant specializing in education.
Mark Fries - Safety and Investigations
We are relative newcomers to Pemberton, having lived previously in Hyde Park and Clarksville. .. I retired in 2007 and returned to Austin from San Francisco. I have enjoyed my leisure time tremendously, but to keep a sound mind and solid body I play occasional tennis, spend time at the “Y”, and attend adult education classes at UT.We live on Wooldridge Dr. Between the two of us, my wife and I have 5 adult children living in California, New York and Florida. .. I grew up in Mexico, but attended Austin’s St. Stephens Episcopal School for 5 years. I graduated with a B.A. from Stanford followed by a two year stint in the Peace Corps in Chile. My whole professional career revolved around international banking with postings in NYC, Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Manila, Madrid, London and San Francisco. My favorite adult beverage depends upon the season. In the summer it's gin and in the colder months I choose whiskey.

Terry Bray - Government & Neighborhood Affairs
I am a lawyer with the Graves Dougherty law firm (and have been for more than 50 years), and reside at 2 Green Lanes. The house was built in the 30s by Judge Graves, and we settled there in 1972 when we returned to Austin from Washington D.C. The Graves House was designated ‘Historic’ by the city and the state more than a decade ago. I’m still practicing law at a reduced level, and my practice involves primarily real estate matters. I was born in 1940 at old Seton, grew up in Travis Heights, and attended college in Boston (where I met and married my wife Judy) and then UT for law school. Our three children grew up on Green Lanes, now are in their 50s and live and work in central Texas, and my daughter Becky and her spouse plan to occupy the Green Lanes house with me within the next month or so. And my favorite adult beverage is Lone Star beer in a bottle.
